Mark Spinoglio


Mark has directly supported Cluster Organizations for over 10 years. His involvement began with organizing and facilitating a two-day workshop on industry cluster mapping in 2011, Washington, DC, under a European Initiative. Mark has led the development of cluster strategies in Europe and North America. He has contributed as an author on several cluster related documents and most recently was the lead author on a publication titled ““Smart Guide for European Cluster Partnerships” (Catalogue number: EA-01-19-459-EN-C, EA-01-19-459-EN-N, 2019). From 2015 to 2020, Mark was a member of the European Cluster Collaboration Platform team and responsible for several activities that included organizing and facilitating international matchmaking events. Through his affiliation with SPI S.A., Mark assisted cluster organizations on developing strategic plans and internationalization strategies. As an independent consultant, Mark has spent the last year as the lead expert on a cluster initiative in Central Florida. Mark is an experienced B2B facilitator of international collaborations and partnerships. He has more than 20 years directly supporting the international needs of SMEs and more than 30 years experience in Europe and North America. He has worked in Europe and North America as an independent consultant and a Senior Manager for SPI (and its affiliate SPI USA Inc.) assisting SMEs establish partnerships in order to expand their market opportunities or increase their technology capabilities. Mark has managed and acted as principal consultant on initiatives funded by the EC, national government agencies (including the United States Federal Government), NGOs and private companies. He has managed projects designed to facilitate international partnerships within specific sectors, with an emphasis on technology-based sectors, worldwide that include: EC Member States, Albania, China, Egypt, India, Pakistan, Romania and the USA.
