In 2025, the TCI Global Conference is heading to the Island of Ireland! From October 14 to 16, Dublin will host our annual gathering of cluster practitioners, made possible thanks to the strong cross-border collaboration between Ireland and Northern Ireland.

In February 2024, the Government of Ireland announced funding towards the establishment of a new Shared Island Enterprise Scheme, developed collaboratively by InterTradeIreland, Invest Northern Ireland, and Enterprise Ireland. A key element of the scheme is dedicated to clustering on an all-island basis

The three economic agencies will now host next year's TCI Global Conference in collaboration with Northern Ireland's  Department for the Economy; Ireland´s  Department of Enterprise, Trade, and Employment (DETE); and with the key support of IDA Ireland, and Munster Technological University (MTU).

This collaboration between different economic agencies highlights the unique all-island offering with Northern Ireland and Ireland working together under the Shared Island Enterprise Scheme for the mutual benefit of both economies. Working across borders with collaboration between different partners will be a first for TCI, and attendees can expect to gain invaluable insights into cross-border collaboration and economic success stories through the lens of clustering.

Under the theme “Clusters: Sustaining  a Global Open Economy,” the conference will explore how governments, businesses, universities, NGOs, and individuals can work together to tackle big global challenges, and how clusters can act as catalysts and key drivers for change. The conference will focus on building partnerships, both cross-border and international, and provide opportunities for networking, collaborations and learning from a myriad of sectors such as advanced manufacturing and health and life science.

Both Ireland and Northern Ireland boast thriving innovation ecosystems. From cutting-edge research to dynamic startups, attendees will engage with thought leaders and explore groundbreaking ideas as both jurisdictions promote and welcome international collaboration. The clusters and networks across the island will create added value for members by sharing knowledge, fostering partnerships, and ensuring fast and dynamic information exchange.

#TCI2025 will also offer attendees the opportunity to learn from best practices, including how clusters are utilizing Ireland's and Northern Ireland’s ability to attract Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and the role FDI plays in the cluster ecosystem.
