TCI Network Welcomes New Leadership and Board Members

TCI Network, the leading global network of organisations and practitioners focused on clusters and innovation ecosystems, is pleased to announce the results of its General Assembly held on the 31st of March, 2025. This assembly of TCI members approved new leadership roles of President, Secretary and Treasurer, and two new directors and the renewal of one Board Director, to guide the network’s future direction.


Meet the  New Leadership Team

  • Mirjana Prica (Australia) has been elected as the President of TCI Network for the term: 2025-2027. Mirjana is an experienced business, science and strategy leader. She is currently the Managing Director of FIAL and was instrumental in raising the profile of clusters across the food and agribusiness sector and Australia. Today she continues to support the development and growth of the industry, with a particular interest in cluster and innovation ecosystems. With over 20 years of research and commercial experience, she has served on boards and advisory groups for research centres, universities, and industry organisations.
  • David Fernández (Basque Country, Spain) has been appointed as the Secretary of the Board. He is the Head of Cluster Development at SPRI, the Basque Business Development Agency in Spain. David has over 15 years of experience in trade and competitiveness, and in coordinating the Basque cluster program. He continues to support cluster organisations through capacity building, international reach, and cross-cluster initiatives.
  • Annie Renders (Flanders, Belgium) has been appointed as the Treasurer of the Board. She is the Head of the Cluster Policy Unit at Flanders Innovation & Entrepreneurship (VLAIO), part of the Flemish Government. She has played a pivotal role in coordinating the regional innovation ecosystem, monitoring innovation policy in Flanders, and leading the Flemish Cluster policy.


Newly  Elected Board Members

The General Assembly also re-elected Tony Lin for a new term and welcomed two new directors to the Board, Lucia Seel and Ola Svedin.

  • Ching-Hung Lin (Taiwan) – Researcher at the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) in Taiwan and think tank advisor for the Ministry of Economic Affairs. Tony is a founding member of the Asia Chapter of the Microeconomics of Competitiveness (MOC) Affiliate Network launched by Harvard Business School.
  • Lucia Seel (Austria) – A European innovation and cluster development expert with over 20 years of experience. Since 2011, she has been a strategy consultant, specialising in building international networks and driving EU projects. Fluent in six languages, she is recognised for her expertise in fostering global collaboration and growth.
  • Ola Svedin (Sweden) – CEO of OpenTech, a leading technology cluster organisation in Southern Sweden, and is also Chairperson of Clusters of Sweden. With 25 years of experience in telecom, IT security, biometrics, and the space industry, Ola has driven major digital transformation projects and technological advancements.

Continuing  Board Members

The newly elected directors will join the existing board members who are Septi Bukula, Yeinni Patiño, Oliver Torres, Guillermo Acosta and Barbara Gibbon. All directors will continue serving until 2026, providing continuity and support in the development of a new strategic direction for the TCI Network.
