TCI2020: the TCI global community tackled together the challenges ahead

Victoria Georgieva,

150+ participants from all corners of the world participated in the TCI 2020 Global Conference “Clusters Driving a New Better Normal” and contributed to tackle the challenges ahead for global clusters and innovation networks (+reimagine sustainable living, +leading social changes, +redesigning competitive strategies and +accelerating digital transformation).

The challenges ahead require transitions in ways of doing things that are only possible through greater collaboration and stronger ecosystems. Clusters and innovation networks play a central role in boosting this much needed collaboration and in speeding-up these transition processes. As we have seen over the last few days, clusters move fast and are flexible, and they can be change makers by showing companies ways forward and helping to map out new opportunities. But to tackle the challenges ahead we also need to think about new models of clusters. The green, digital and social challenges ahead raise new and more complex questions that entail new roles for cluster organisations beyond mere facilitators. Clusters need to seek strategic partnerships to strengthen their value offer and outreach and they need to better communicate their impacts to society.

The conference material is available to be revisited (and if you've missed the chance to join us last October 14-15, you will have the opportunity to watch the conference on demand).
